Isai Amuthu – Musical Gems of the Tamil Trinity

As part of the Carnatic Composers series presented by the Esplanade, TFA is excited to be contributing to this effort by bringing to life select works of the Tamil Moovar through . The Tamil Moovar, or Tamil Trinity, were three composers – Muthu Thandavar, Arunachala Kavi and Marimutha Pillai – who had contributed greatly in their time, with many of their compositions still being sung today in concerts. While they may be lesser known than the Carnatic Music Trinity, their genius brought structure to the modern format of the krithis and padams.

The Carnatic Composes series is a series of concerts that explores the rich diversity of Carnatic music through the composers who have defined and redefined the genre from the 15th century to the present.
